Allan McArtor
President and Chief Executive Officer
T. Allan McArtor
is president and CEO of Legend Airlines, Inc., a new airline serving
business travelers from its private terminal at Lemmon Avenue and
Lovers Lane in Dallas, Texas.
McArtor's career
highlights include leadership and senior management positions in
the military, civil and government sectors. From 1979 to 1987, he
was a senior executive for Federal Express Corporation. In 1987,
President Ronald Reagan appointed McArtor to serve as Administrator
of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). McArtor returned to
FedEx in 1989 as senior vice president of air operations with oversight
for all divisions of FedEx's global airline.
He currently serves
on the board of directors of The Nature Conservancy of Texas, Pilkington
Aerospace, Inc. (a manufacturer of aircraft windshields and fighter
aircraft canopies), Teleglobe, Inc. (a merged company of Teleglobe
Canada and Excel Communications) and Angel Technologies (a broad-band
technology company). He previously served on the boards of Learjet,
Inc., and Fairchild Space and Defense Company.
McArtor is a 1964
graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and holds a Masters Degree
from Arizona State University. He was a highly decorated combat
pilot who also flew with the U.S. Air Force's "Thunderbirds"
aerial demonstration team. He holds a commercial pilot's license
and is amember of the engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi.
