Legislative & Government Relations
Gaylord Armstrong joined the law firm of McGinnis, Lochridge & Kilgore, L.L.P. in 1968 and subsequently developed extensive expertise and experience representing clients before state agencies and the Texas Legislature. His clients include corporations, trade associations, and coalitions on matters in every area of the law before the Texas Legislature, state regulatory and administrative agencies, and other departments in the executive branch of Texas state government. His diverse areas of expertise include every aspect of the energy industry, taxation, telecommunications, technology, transportation, health, financial institutions, environmental regulation, credit laws, and telemarketing.

Mr. Armstrong also has wide experience in the areas of campaign finance, political action committees and public law topics. He has assisted many clients in creating federal and state political action committees and has advised them on questions arising in connection with the management of those committees. His practice also includes advising political candidates and officeholders on campaign finance and related ethical and legal questions.

Mr. Armstrong and the other lawyers and staff in the Governmental Relations and Legislative Practice Group establish relationships with and are involved with candidates and campaigns in local, statewide, legislative, and congressional races in order to keep clients informed and advised in connection with political action committee contributions and other political and legislative activities.
