President's Greeting

Thank you for visiting the NAIOP North Texas Chapter website. Our chapter consists of professional real estate members representing a spectrum of developers, owners, operators and service providers to the commercial real estate industry. Our membership consists of approximately 275+ members at a corporate and individual level and includes many of the most prominent and influential commercial real estate practitioners in the country.

As an organization, NAIOP North Texas focuses on educational and business networking opportunities to our constituents through monthly programs and events. Moreover the North Texas NAIOP Chapter is active in maintaining a strong presence in our state and local legislative affairs. We maintain a constant focus on the legislative issues which impact our industry. Our educational efforts include significant commitments of time and resources to scholarship opportunities for young individuals entering into a career into commercial real estate.

Among our numerous goals and objectives for 2010, the Board of Directors intends to focus on the following:

• Continue our tradition of high quality education programs. The programs for 2010 will include capital markets update, presentation from Mayor Tom Leppert, an investment sales analysis of our current market conditions, and other relevant programs related to our real estate industry.
• NAIOP will continue to host a quality charity golf event in September. Focus on expanding our networking opportunities within the Dallas/Fort Worth business community while providing the necessary fundraising to support our Chapter and our scholarships program.
• The North Texas Chapter of NAIOP will continue to maintain a strong presence in Austin and Washington, D.C. to expand a voice in the legislative process on a national and statewide basis. North Texas Board of NAIOP will focus a significant amount of effort to strengthening our legislative alliances with numerous organizations throughout the state and local North Texas real estate organizations to form a coalition on issues impacting real estate development community.
• In 2010, NAIOP North Texas will conduct its 5th Academic Challenge. The Academic Challenge provides Texas college students with a competitive platform to display their real estate talents in analyzing and resolving a challenging case study. The Academic Challenge will result in significant scholarships for the winning teams.
• The Developing Leaders program of NAIOP provides real estate professionals under the age of 35 the opportunity to network with their peers and gain access to the leadership of the North Texas NAIOP Chapter. This organization has expanded in recent years to a total of 70 developing leaders.
