Thank you for taking the time to visit the website for the North Texas chapter of NAIOP. Our chapter consists of an active membership that represents the spectrum of the office and industrial real estate development and ownership companies and consultants. At both the individual and the corporate level, our members include many of the most prominent and influential commercial real estate operators in the country.
As an organization, we strive to bring educational and business opportunities to our constituents through our programs and events. The leadership of the organization works diligently to provide programs and to distribute information which is useful in our daily business pursuits. Moreover, the North Texas Chapter of NAIOP is active in maintaining a strong presence within the State Legislature as we maintain a constant focus on the legislative issues which impact our industry. With a mindful focus on education, our organization also commits significant time and resources to scholarship opportunities both at the collegiate and high school level.
Among our numerous goals and objectives for 2008, the Board of Directors intends to focus on the following:
- Continue our tradition of quality programs on timely topics. Programs in 2008 will include our annual capital markets update, presentation from Mayor Leppert, investment sales and brokerage market panel discussion, a DFW Legends event, and other relevant programs such as the Green Building Program. Our first two programs this year have been sold out. Also, NAIOP hosts its annual golf event in September. This has proven to be a huge success for networking opportunities within the DFW business community.
- Continue our emphasis on maintaining a strong presence in Austin, thereby proactively involving our membership in the legislative process. In keeping with this very important strategy, the North Texas Board of NAIOP will focus significant efforts towards strengthening our legislative alliances with numerous organizations throughout the state with whom our objectives are aligned.
- Continue to cultivate a strong working relationship with academic institutions throughout the state. During 2008, NAIOP plans to conduct its third Academic Challenge. The event will provide college students with a platform for a competition which will result in significant scholarship opportunities to the winners.
- Encourage membership growth among the Developing Leaders in our industry. As tomorrow’s leaders establish themselves in the real estate industry, our board is committed to establishing NAIOP as the organization through which these individuals will implement their collective industry objectives.
On behalf of the Board of Directors, thank you for your interest and membership. We are committed to providing our members and our community real value through the Texas NAIOP.
Sincerely,
S. Denton Walker III
2008 President
